BenQ Materials Corp. has once again been recognized for its excellence in sustainability at the 18th annual Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards (TCSA), organized by the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE). The company received the Platinum Award for Sustainability Reporting and was named one of Taiwan’s Top 100 Sustainable Exemplary Enterprises.

In addition, its English-language Sustainability Report achieved the Gold Class distinction at the Global Corporate Sustainability Awards (GCSA) for the first time—representing the best performance in the company’s history and reaffirming its long-standing commitment to ESG advancement and transparent governance.

BenQ Materials stated that these dual recognitions from both domestic and international award programs validate the company’s strategic direction and acknowledge the dedication of its employees. The company will continue to adopt higher standards of environmental, social, and governance practices to expand its positive impact.

Driving Decarbonization Through Structured Carbon Management
On the environmental front, BenQ Materials applies scientific and institutional tools to advance decarbonization. Through its Internal Carbon Pricing mechanism, carbon costs are incorporated into investment and operational decisions, embedding low-carbon thinking into everyday management.

In 2024, the company achieved a 12.9% reduction in combined Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions compared with its baseline year—driven by process optimization, energy transformation, and equipment upgrades.

The company is also expanding its renewable energy deployment, targeting RE100 by 2040. Its renewable electricity usage reached 23.7% in 2024, demonstrating both determination and execution in shifting toward a low-carbon energy structure and strengthening supply chain resilience.

People-Centered Development: Talent, Inclusion, and Employee Well-Being
BenQ Materials continues to reinforce a people-first workplace by developing talent through AI and digital upskilling. In 2024, the company delivered 1,754 training participants totaling 3,310 hours, supporting employees in acquiring future-ready competencies through internal experts, coaching programs, and cross-department learning communities.

In terms of diversity and inclusion, BenQ Materials actively supports migrant workers by hosting regular communication sessions and conducting satisfaction surveys to identify improvement needs and facilitate workplace integration.

To help employees balance family and work responsibilities, the company offers comprehensive family-friendly policies, including three days of paid caregiving leave, flexible work arrangements, and cross-functional support mechanisms. These efforts earned the company the Taoyuan “Peach Gold ESG Happy Enterprise Award,” recognizing its achievements in employee welfare, workplace equality, and overall well-being.

BenQ Materials emphasized that creating a supportive workplace is an ongoing commitment rather than a one-time initiative. More inclusive and employee-centered measures will continue to be implemented to maintain a safe, supportive, and empowering environment.

Dual Top Honors in Sustainability Reporting
BenQ Materials has long prioritized rigorous sustainability disclosure by aligning its reports with international frameworks and continuously improving materiality analyses, reporting structures, and the consistency of Chinese and English editions.
This year, its Chinese Sustainability Report once again received the Platinum Award, while the English edition achieved Gold Class at the GCSA—a milestone that highlights the company’s enhanced disclosure quality, depth of reporting, and alignment with global standards.

These achievements reflect the judges’ strong recognition of BenQ Materials’ consistent ESG performance and mark a new milestone in transparent and responsible reporting.

Moving Forward: Strengthening Resilience Through ESG
In response to global net-zero trends and evolving sustainability governance expectations, BenQ Materials will continue to advance its four sustainability pillars: decarbonization, circular economy, talent development, and social inclusion. The company aims to deepen collaboration across its supply chain, customers, and stakeholders to build a more resilient and impactful sustainable ecosystem.

BenQ Materials reiterates that sustainability is not an optional initiative but a long-term requirement for responsible corporate management. The company will continue to respond to global expectations through concrete actions, striving to become a leading example of innovation, competitiveness, and corporate responsibility.
